PIObuds Concept
The concept is based on the popular saying “A little bird told me”. Creating a design that refers to a tweet of a bird whispering in your ear. PIObuds are intended to be a fun and easily recognizable design by its aesthetics, these earbuds promise to be your "companion birds" in cold and hot days.
Sketch Explorations
The formal exploration of PIObuds emerged from simple shapes in the side view, intending to give character with easily recognizable elements such as the bird's eye, tail and belly.
During the iteration of various ideas, the need to simplify shapes to create a simple but strong design is seen. Rounded shapes, bright colors and a robust design are the main formal characteristics of PIObuds to be an aesthetically appealing and fun design.
From the sketch to 3D CAD
Having captured the essence and shape of PioBuds in the sketches, the 3D design in Rhinoceros took place, creating a CAD model with the specifications of size, shape and level of detail needed to develop a real product.
Several 3D versions of this design were necessary to arrive at the final result that managed to gather all the requirements described previously.
PIOnest Concept
The concept of the charging dock is based on two birds sleeping in their nest, the bird-shaped earbuds rest on a dock that looks like a small nest.
The charging dock has a friendly, robust design to refer to a nest, the material is cork for the main body, which imitates the warmth of the branches of a nest.
From the sketch to 3D CAD
Having captured the essence and shape of PIOnest in the sketches, the 3D design in Rhinoceros took place, creating a CAD model with the specifications and requirements
A few of 3D versions of this design were necessary to arrive at the final result which matched the formal and technical characteristics of the PIObuds.
Cork for main body
Cork is an ideal material for the charging dock, it conveys the warmth and intent of the design concept. In addition to this, it is a noble material that is environmentally friendly and impact resistant.
Strap attached to PIOnest
The blue strap allows you to carry your earbuds and dock with you everywhere you go. It can be hung on a backpack, worn on the wrist or wherever it suits you best.
